The largest aerosol market we serve, and the one with the strictest labelling and VOC rules. Consumer aerosol paint sold in the US is regulated for VOC content at state level, so the formulation and the package are matched to the state the goods are sold in — this is settled before the first can is filled.
Documents your importer will ask for
- US: SDS in OSHA/GHS format, UN1950 limited-quantity marking under DOT 49 CFR, state VOC limits
- Canada: WHMIS 2015 SDS, TDG UN1950, bilingual English/French label
- Mexico: NOM-018-STPS-2015 SDS, Spanish label
Shipping & transit
FCL or LCL from Yantian / Nansha to Los Angeles, Long Beach, Savannah, Houston. DG class 2.1 booking handled by our forwarder or yours.
Spanish and Portuguese labels are the norm, and importers want the SDS in Spanish or Portuguese from the first shipment. Automotive refinish and industrial MRO move fastest here, in mixed containers that combine several SKUs.
Documents your importer will ask for
- Brazil: ABNT NBR 14725 SDS, Portuguese label
- Argentina / Chile / Colombia: GHS SDS, Spanish label
- Mexico: NOM-018-STPS-2015 SDS, Spanish label (see North America)
Shipping & transit
Direct sailings to Santos, Buenos Aires, San Antonio, Cartagena, Callao. Transit 30–45 days; DG surcharge depends on the carrier and the port.
REACH and CLP are not negotiable here, and since 2021 an aerosol mixture placed on the EU market also needs a Poison Centre Notification with a UFI code printed on the label. We build that file set from the formulation documents rather than after the fact.
Documents your importer will ask for
- REACH: SVHC statement per SKU, and registration duties sit with the EU importer
- CLP: label and SDS in the language of the destination country, UFI code, Poison Centre Notification for the mixture
- VOC limits under the Paints Directive for decorative products; ADR class 2.1 for road transport
Shipping & transit
FCL to Rotterdam, Hamburg, Antwerp, Leixões, Gdańsk. Transit 30–40 days; the DG booking is the part that decides the sailing.
Two things decide the schedule here: registration paperwork that has to be started early, and the label language. Turkish importers need the Turkish label before customs release; in the EAEU the Russian label and TR TS 041/2017 documents travel with the goods.
Documents your importer will ask for
- Türkiye: SEA/KKDIK registration, Turkish-language label, TAREKS controls
- Russia / EAEU: TR TS 041/2017 chemical safety, GOST, Russian label
- Kazakhstan / Uzbekistan: EAC documents or national registration depending on the product
Shipping & transit
FCL to Mersin / Istanbul, Novorossiysk, St Petersburg; rail to Central Asia for inland destinations. Transit 20–35 days.
Bilingual Arabic and English labels are standard, and Saudi Arabia wants SABER registration for the consignment before it ships. Because aerosols are dangerous goods, the importer needs DG handling at the receiving port — usually the first question we ask.
Documents your importer will ask for
- Saudi Arabia: SASO / SABER certificate of conformity, Arabic + English label
- UAE: Arabic + English label, ECAS / ESMA where applicable
- GSO standards for aerosol containers, valves and actuators
- Importers normally also require the Arabic SDS
Shipping & transit
FCL to Jebel Ali, Dammam, Hamad, Shuwaikh, Aqaba. Transit 18–28 days.
Requirements differ sharply country by country, and the paperwork is usually the critical path rather than production. The workable sequence is: confirm the certificate route with your importer, then book production — we prepare the file list together with you before the purchase order.
Documents your importer will ask for
- Nigeria: SONCAP product certificate and SC for the shipment
- Kenya: PVoC certificate of conformity via KEBS; Tanzania: TBS PVoC
- Egypt: GOEIC registration; Morocco / Algeria: Arabic or French label
- South Africa: English label, SANS / NRCS where applicable
Shipping & transit
FCL to Durban, Apapa / Lagos, Mombasa, Alexandria, Casablanca, Tema. Transit 25–40 days.
Price-sensitive but growing quickly in automotive refinish and industrial MRO. Labelling follows the local packaged-commodity rules, and dangerous goods import needs an approved licence at the port of discharge.
Documents your importer will ask for
- India: Legal Metrology label (importer, net content, MRP), GHS SDS, DG import licence
- Bangladesh / Sri Lanka / Nepal / Pakistan: GHS SDS, English label normally accepted
- Country-of-origin marking for customs
Shipping & transit
FCL to Nhava Sheva, Chennai, Chittagong, Colombo, Karachi. Transit 15–25 days.
Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia each require the label in the local language, and all three have a chemical declaration or notification step. Singapore and Malaysia are English and clear fastest — often the right place to start a new product line in the region.
Documents your importer will ask for
- Vietnam: Vietnamese label (Decree 43), chemical declaration
- Thailand: Thai label, TISI where applicable
- Indonesia: Bahasa Indonesia label, import permits and SNI where applicable
- Philippines / Malaysia / Singapore: English label, SDS normally accepted
Shipping & transit
FCL to Cat Lai / Ho Chi Minh, Laem Chabang, Tanjung Priok, Manila, Port Klang. Transit 7–15 days.
The most document-heavy destinations we serve, and the ones where the label wording is checked most carefully. Japan classifies aerosol storage under the Fire Service Act; Korea needs a Korean MSDS and K-REACH registration for the substances in the formulation.
Documents your importer will ask for
- Japan: Japanese label, Fire Service Act storage classification, Poisonous and Deleterious Substances Control Act where applicable
- Korea: K-REACH registration, Korean MSDS, Dangerous Goods Safety Management Act
- Taiwan: Chinese label, toxic chemical rules where applicable
Shipping & transit
FCL or LCL to Yokohama / Kobe, Busan, Kaohsiung. Transit 5–10 days; frequent sailings keep the schedule flexible.
English labels and industrial-chemical obligations rather than consumer paint rules. Dangerous goods handling is well established at both ports, so clearance is rarely the bottleneck — schedule and freight rate usually decide.
Documents your importer will ask for
- Australia: AICIS obligations for industrial chemicals, ADG UN1950, English label
- New Zealand: EPA / HSNO approval where applicable
- Other destinations: we quote the document set once the port and label language are known
Shipping & transit
FCL to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Auckland. Transit 14–22 days.
